Nitrogen deficiency and iron deficiency - nutritional management of lily

The mesophyll tissues showing young leaves and veins are yellow-green, especially those that grow rapidly. The greater the amount of iron deficiency in plants, the yellower the leaves become. Etiology is most susceptible to iron deficiency in calcium-rich soils (high pH), silty soils, and soils that contain too much water. Iron deficiency can also occur if the soil temperature is too low. Iron deficiency is caused by plants lacking absorbable iron. If it is only slightly yellow, it can return to normal during the harvest period. Lily-sensitive lily populations and varieties include Far Eastern hybrids and Hibiscus lily hybrids. Prevention methods ensure that the soil is well drained and the pH is low. A good root system will greatly reduce the occurrence of iron deficiency. Based on the crop's sensitivity to iron deficiency, chelated iron was added to the soil above pH 6.5 prior to planting and applied a second time after planting based on the color of the crop. If the color of the plant is still unsatisfactory, it may be applied again in about two weeks. The amount of chelated iron applied depends on the pH of the soil and the application time. Excessive application causes dark spots in the leaves. Dosages of 2 to 3 g/m2 were applied before planting (complete application to the soil). The maximum dose after planting is 2 g/m2. The chelated iron can be applied through an irrigation system, or it can be mixed with dry sand and spread. In order to prevent the leaves from coking, the chelated iron can be applied to wet crops in the evening when the weather is dark, and must be completely rinsed after application. When applying chelated iron to new cultivars, an application test should be performed first. The presence of nitrogen deficiency will cause the plant leaves to become lighter. When the nitrogen content of the soil is low, the plant stems are lighter, the flower buds are less, and the leaves turn yellow quickly when the bottle is inserted. Control methods to apply enough nitrogen fertilizer, it is best to apply according to soil analysis results. If nitrogen deficiency is diagnosed in the cultivation, apply available nitrogen fertilizer. Be cautious when applying fertilisers and ensure that the crop is completely rinsed after application.
