In the northern regions, it is generally recommended to use 11# diesel engine oil, while in the southern areas, 14# diesel engine oil is more suitable. This ensures proper lubrication and reduces mechanical wear, especially under varying temperature conditions.
When the tractor moves into summer operations, it's important to adjust the lubricant radiator reversing valve to the position that allows oil to flow into the radiator. This helps dissipate heat effectively, keeping the lubricant at a safe and stable temperature, which prevents overheating of the engine components.
During the summer, the water tank can heat up quickly, leading to boiling and increased evaporation. To prevent scale buildup, it’s advisable to regularly add cold soft water to the tank. However, when adding water, make sure to run the engine at low speed and throttle for a while until the temperature drops slightly. Then, add the water again. Avoid pouring cold water directly into a hot system, as this can cause thermal shock and potentially damage engine parts.
To avoid overworking the machine, it’s best not to operate continuously for long periods. It’s recommended to take regular breaks, check the tire temperature, coolant temperature, oil temperature, and overall machine temperature. If any temperature is too high, allow the system to cool down before resuming work.
Tire maintenance becomes even more critical during the summer. Avoid leaving the tractor parked in direct sunlight for extended periods, as excessive heat can lead to tire blowouts. Ensure tire pressure is maintained within the manufacturer’s specified range, and never exceed the recommended pressure. If the tires become too hot during operation, move the tractor to a shaded area to let them cool gradually. Avoid splashing cold water on the tires, as this can cause uneven cooling and lead to cracks or damage to the tread and internal structure.
Lastly, protect the battery from direct sunlight. High temperatures can cause the electrolyte to overheat, leading to warping of the plates, loss of active material, and damage to the separators. Keeping the battery in a shaded area helps maintain its performance and extends its lifespan.
