Spring frost is very harmful to apple trees. From April to May, it is the apple tree sprouting to the flowering period. During this period, the flower buds have been released from dormancy, and the cold resistance is greatly reduced. In case of sudden cooling, they are vulnerable to freezing injury. The average apple tree encountered -3.9°C during the bud stage and -2.2°C - -2.8°C during the flowering period. For more than half an hour, the flower organs would suffer freezing injury. After the apple tree is frozen at the flowering stage, it usually shows poor pollination, dead stigma, filaments or ovary browning. To prevent freezing of apple trees during flowering, the following measures should be taken:
1. The trunk is painted white in early spring. The formula of whitening agent is: 10 parts of quicklime, 1 to 2 parts of salt, 35 to 40 parts of water, plus 1 to 2 parts of raw bean juice to increase adhesion. Can also be used 10 to 20 times the lime spray canopy, can delay the flowering period of 3 to 5 days, avoid frost hazards.
2. In early spring irrigation and water spray. Irrigation at the beginning of spring can significantly reduce the temperature and delay flowering for 3 to 5 days.
3. Spray can kill. Spray 400 times on the day before the frost can also prevent fruit trees from frosting and it works well.
4. Spray anti-cream agent. According to the latest research results, many ice nucleuses on crops are produced by ice nucleation bacteria. They can increase the cooling point of the plant's internal water and cause frost to occur when the crop is below 0°C. Therefore, removing existing ice nucleus and killing bacteria that produce ice nucleus can reduce the temperature of water icing in the crop, thus reducing or avoiding the risk of frost. At present, China Academy of Agricultural Sciences has developed two anti-frost agents that can kill ice nucleation bacteria and destroy the activity of ice nucleus. Its anti-frost effect is good.
5. Smoke law. In the flowering period of apple trees, smog method can be used to prevent frost, and the effect is very good. The aerosol formulation was: 20% nitric acid, 70% sawdust or residual grass, and 10% waste diesel. Aerosols can be placed in 3 to 4 piles per acre and placed evenly in the top wind or in the orchard. When the temperature of 2 meters above the orchard falls to -2°C, it can be ignited and smoked.
6. Put the bees in the orchard. Introduce bee colonies 3 to 4 days before flowering, and put a bee on 4 to 5 acres. Such as the use of angle wall bee, only 80 to 100 wall bees per acre tree can meet pollination needs. According to the test, the honeybees in the apple orchard have an average frost-reduction rate of 40% or more. The more effective the anti-frost effect is, the closer it is to apple orchards.
7. Spray fruit tree antifreeze. In the 1 to 2 days before the occurrence of frost damage, the fruit spray antifreeze plus PBO solution each 50 to 100 times, antifreeze excellent.
8. You can also spray homemade antifreeze. 8 parts of agar, 3 parts of glycerin, 43 parts of glucose, 45 parts of sucrose, 2 parts of other nutrients (including fertilizers, phytohormones, etc.), 5000 to 10000 parts of clear water. The agar was first soaked in a small amount of water for 2 hours, then heated and dissolved, and then the other ingredients were added and mixed until ready for use.
