Sesame topping must master the appropriate period

Sesame seeds are topped in a timely manner to regulate the nutrient distribution of plants, control and reduce ineffective fruits, and increase the number of effective pod seeds, so that the grain is full and generally can increase production by 10%.
To sesame seeds, the key is to grasp the appropriate time for the top. Topping out prematurely will affect the normal growth and development of the plant and reduce the effective pods leading to a reduction in production. Topping too late will not achieve the purpose of regulating nutrients and reducing ineffective pods. For sesame flowering, scab, and grouting, the average daily temperature must be above 20°C. Below 20 °C, sesame roots grow poorly and the leaves are prematurely decayed, forming more empty seeds. Under normal circumstances, it takes about 40 days for sesame to grow from budding to maturity. Therefore, the appropriate time for topping should be that the time for the local daily average temperature to reach around 20°C is pushed forward for 40 days, about 1 week after sesame blossoms or 3 weeks after initial flowering. High temperatures in the autumn, sufficient sunshine, and good plant growth can be appropriately postponed for 3 to 5 days. Topping, flicking, and only picking the top heart (including branching crown). In the autumn, where the temperature drops rapidly, or if the sesame grows poorly, it should be topped and re-struck. In addition to picking the top of the heart, the top buds and branches should be removed, and the 3–5 cm top stems should be removed.
