Research on the new varieties of Lumianyan series of genetically modified insect-resistant cotton, jointly developed by the Shandong Cotton Research Center and the Institute of Biotechnology, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, has achieved new progress. After Lu Mianyan No.17, No.18, No.19, No.20, No.21, No.22, No.23, and No.25 were approved by Shandong Crop Variety Approval Committee on March 5, 2005, Lumianyan No.15, A total of 7 new transgenic cotton varieties on the 16th, 19th, 20th, 21st, 24th, and 25th were approved on April 30, 2005 at the 4th meeting of the First National Crop Variety Approval Committee. . Among them, Lumianyan No.15, No.20, No.24 and No.25 are insect-resistant hybrid cotton varieties, Lumianyan No.16 and No.21 are conventional insect-resistant cotton varieties, and Lumianyan No.19 is a short-season insect-resistant cotton variety. At this point, the Shandong Cotton Research Center has 11 new varieties of transgenic insect-resistant cotton approved by Shandong province and/or country. The approval of these new varieties will further improve the types of cotton needed for cotton production in our province, and will play a positive role in promoting the healthy and stable development of cotton production and cotton seed industry.
