Emergency treatment method when the engine is overheated

It's dangerous to overheat the engine. Bad luck can damage the engine. When driving on highways at a high speed, or when climbing a car, if the pointer of the water temperature gauge enters the red zone, remains high, or repeatedly shakes in the red zone, emergency measures must be taken at this time.

If the engine overheats on ordinary roads, you should reduce the speed as quickly as possible, drive the car to the shade, or drive to a relatively cool place to stop the car. Open the engine cover and allow the engine to idle and wait for the engine temperature to gradually return to normal. After the engine water temperature returns to normal, the engine is turned off. Then wait for a period of time until the water temperature of the engine has sufficiently decreased, and then check the cooling water volume of the engine. At this time, the amount of cooling water in the engine is seriously insufficient. After replenishing the cooling water by the specified amount, check the cooling system again. After confirming that there are no other faults, start the engine and continue driving.

If overheating of the engine occurs on the highway, the heater must be fully opened and the windows opened. At this time, the inside of the cabin will be hot like hell. Because there is warm air to help cool the cooling water, cooling water temperature can be greatly reduced. In this way, you can continue to drive, find the exit of the expressway nearby, and drive the car to a safe place to stop. Next, just follow the method described above to bring down the temperature of the engine. Note that it is best not to park your car on the side of the road so as not to affect traffic or being crashed. You must park your car in a safe place.
