Cashmere goat lamb management technology

The Cashmere Goat Lamb period is the period from post-natal to four-month-old weaning. Lamb period is the period of growth and development of cashmere goats during their lifetime. It is mainly breast milk within two months of age and has poor adaptability to the outside world. Its nutritional sources vary greatly from the process of blood, milk, and forage. Lamb's growth and development is closely related to the adult cashmere goat's body weight and production performance. Therefore, we must attach great importance to the lamb's feeding and management, to grasp the characteristics of the growth and development of lambs, and do a good job in feeding management.

I. Cashmere goat lamb breeding technology

(a) Newborn lamb care

After leaving the mother, the lamb is mainly based on breast milk, so the nutrition of the ewes should be strengthened. After the lamb is born, it must eat the "colostrum" of the ewes for 1-3 days. "Colostrum" has high nutritional value, and its protein is 4-5 times that of conventional milk. It has a complete range of vitamins and contains vitamins that cannot be synthesized by lambs. Trace elements are also abundant. The magnesium salt in "colostrum" has a laxative effect. Promote fetal discharge. At the same time, "colostrum" contains immunoglobulins that are not found in regular milk, which can increase the immunity and resistance of lambs and increase the constitution of lambs.

When the lamb is born, it is prone to false death and freezing. For dead-dead sheep, after removing the mucus from the oral cavity and nasal cavity, prick up the head and pat the chest to resuscitate. If the above method does not work, you can lay the baby lying supine, artificial respiration; in addition to the frozen lamb can be placed near the heat source to ease, the conditions can be put in the lamb to 38-40 °C warm water to restore body temperature, such as in the wild You can put it in your arms to warm it up.

For lambs that are not milk-eating, you can find the "send mother" sheep. The “parents” sheep are generally lambs with fewer litters or dead maternal ewes during the same period. When fostering, care should be taken to coat the lamb's body with milk and urine from the “mother” sheep to prevent the ewes from refusing to feed. During the application of milk and urine, they should be painted at the same time as the lamb who was eating the mother’s milk. If lambs lacking milk can't find “nanny” sheep, they should be fed. Artificial feeding uses goat milk, milk, and milk powder. Improper feeding of milk powder should cause dyspepsia and cause diarrhea and death of lambs. Therefore, attention should be paid to the changes of lamb droppings at any time to prevent and treat them early. If artificial feeding is to be successful, it must be timed and quantified when feeding. In work practice, it was concluded that 0.5 ml of E. coli bacterin was injected subcutaneously on newborn lambs to prevent diarrhea in lambs until prevention.

(b) Lamb feeding

In order to make the lamb grow fast and have good growth performance, besides eating enough "colostrum" and "regular milk", supplementation should be done as soon as possible. This will not only enable the lamb to obtain more perfect nutrients, but also advance the digestive function of the gastrointestinal tract, promote the healthy development of the gastrointestinal system, and increase the physique of the lamb. The lamb can be fed on the 10th day of age, so that the lamb can smell the ingredients (such as the eight-soybeans, corn, etc.) fried in the pot (slot) first, and the smell will imitate the eating of the lamb. After 15 days, the lamb can be fed with fresh grass and some fine, high-quality hay, leaves and other forage. Spring grass season to prevent eating too much cause diarrhea. Supplementation should be done regularly, quantitatively, so as to promote the lamb's digestive function and enhance the lamb's constitution.

Lamb feeding amount:

Within 1 month of age, no more than 50 grams.

1-2 months old, about 100 grams.

After 2 months of age, it gradually increased to 200-500 grams.

Second, cashmere goat lamb management technology

(A) Sports

In general, 5 to 7 days after birth, the lambs choose the windless and warm sunny days to drive the lambs to outdoor sports to enhance their physical fitness, increase appetite, promote growth and reduce disease.

(b) Grazing

The grazing land of the lamb is close to the sheep's house. The quality of pasture is better, and the lamb is trained so that the lamb does not run around and listen to the command. However, when grazing, do not allow the lamb to eat dewy grass. When grazing, do not allow the lamb to get wet from the rain, so as not to cause physical damage caused by illness.

(c) Deworming

Lambs are susceptible to parasitic diseases. Albendazole and levamisole are commonly used to treat aphids and digestive tract nematodes in lambs. The general treatment method for body parasites is a medicine bath. Currently, medicines commonly used in medicinal baths are mainly The enemy killed and destroyed the spirit.

(d) Antivirus poisoning

Lambs have no experience in identifying weeds such as scallions and vanilla. They found poisonous weeds when they were grazing in early spring, and grazing staff should remove them from roots to prevent lambs from eating. Once the lamb eats, it can be fed with mung bean water and detoxified with atropine.

(v) Lamb weaning and grouping

Lambs are generally weaned at 3 to 4 months of age. Weaning methods can be divided into stage weaning and once weaning. The stage of weaning is separated from the mother's cubs during the day from 2-3 months of age, gregarious at night, then met every other day, and so on, and finally weaned completely. One weaning method is to separate the lambs from the ewes at the age of 4 months and no longer gregarious. After weaning, the lambs were grouped according to sex, size, and strength to strengthen feeding and management.

Third, measures to improve the survival rate of lambs in cashmere goats

1 Avoid lambing during the cold season, master reasonable breeding time, prevent winter cold in the winter, breed lambs at night, let mum's mummified mum after lambing, and enhance motherhood to protect lambs.

2 Ensure that the ewes have sufficient milk.

3 Disinfect the ewes and lambs in time after birth.

4 Give artificial care to the lamb for a long time, such as assisted feeding.

5 In the 15-20 days after the birth of the lamb, it should be fed in time, and with the ewes grazing for a short time, with the increase of the age of time.

6 Lambs should be basking in the sun for proper exercise and sunbathing.

7 Feed the cod liver oil to the lamb and drip 2-4 drops into the mouth while feeding.

8 prevent extrusion, pay attention to keep warm.

9 For lambs with weak constitution, you can use glucose and calcium chloride 10ml in the warm water bath, add 25% glucose 10ml, and slowly intravenous injection.

10 Weak lambs in a warm water bath, remove and wipe, and feed colostrum.
