Japan Develops Successful Virus Control Tea Poison Technology

The Japanese Institute of Life and Ocean Technology succeeded in using viruses to control tea worms, which shows that it can also control tea worms without chemical pesticides. According to the "Industrial News" report, tea pests are mainly leaf roller moths, which are a kind of moth. They lay eggs on tea leaves, and emulsified larvae swallow tea leaves, affecting tea yield and quality. Tea farmers spray pesticides four to seven times a year for pest control. Experiments have shown that 10 acres of tea (1 acre = 100 square meters) can be used to kill more than 90% of tea worms by spraying only 200 ml of virus culture liquid. However, the virus is harmless to the human body and the environment. At present, the Institute is researching the method of mass production of the anti-chaigaviridae virus. The preliminary setting price is the same as that of pesticides. It plans to apply for pesticide production licenses in September this year and launch products in the spring of next year.
